Playing in a fantasy world
After years of criticizing fantasy football players, Ryan has caved and has joined a league with his buddies. He asks for your insight in preparing for the draft. Ryan also discusses his dislike for poker and wonders why so many people dislike Rob Thomas. He also appears to be wearing a pajama top and Civil War hat.
1. Don’t pick a kicker until the last round.
2. If you are stuck between picking a RB and another position, ALWAYS take the RB.
3. Know the positions needed to field a team. Guys like Jacobs4Heisman like to create leagues that start two QBs or two Catchers or something stupid like that.
Hey man. As one of those so called nerdy fantasy football guys, here are a couple things I always keep in mind during a draft.
1. Make sure your backup quarterback and starting quarterback don’t have the same bye week. No one likes to pick up Shaun Hill for a week. Same goes for running backs (unless you have more than three and are starting two)
2. Let someone else take the first defense. There’s no sense in setting the precedent as the top four to five defenses are all solid.
3. Make sure to know if your league gives individual players kick return points. If so, that could be a key to who your No. 3 receiver is.
I’m sure I could ramble on and on but there’s a start for you.
