Bowling Green State University – Anderson Arena Memories – Volume 12.
Linking above to a nice memory in the wonderful Anderson Arena memory series they’re doing at BGSUFalcons.com! I was “lucky” enough to be at this game… a LONG delay… made for a not so great basketball experience, to be honest, but it was still fun to be there for a shattered backboard!

I’ve got a video of the actual breakage too somewhere, just have to find it. OH… and I have a nice sized chunk of that backboard in my office.

I remember them getting into the closet on the North end to rummage around hoping a miracle would pop out. Everyone was so stunned and then everyone went nuts. As Grant said, it took FOREVER, but hey- it was pretty cool to watch the whole process.
Did we win?
We DID win, yes! 57-56!
I knew it was a close game!
And it was against Miami, as I recall.
