Does anyone know when we can expect to hear when we will play the final regular season home game against Buffalo? The game is just over a month away now and we have hotel reservations and travels plans for several people that are on hold until a date is set.

When I called to get tickets last week, they said if it's Friday night, it will be nationally televised. That leads me to believe it might be well into Feb. before they make that call, to see how the teams stack up toward the end of the season.

I was sort of hoping for Saturday, but that would be very cool if it was nationally televised. Either way, I hope we pack the place full and get a win. I was told when I bought my tickets that they were also going to be using the seating on the second level behind the south basket that is usually pushed back for those tables. I was excited to hear that. Seeing a full house in there again will be like a flashback to the not-so-distant days of how Anderson Arena was for men's basketball when I was a student. Those seats were always used and we had numerous nights where it was packed during those years. I know we've been wearing those throwback BGU uniforms the last few homes games too, but I also hope we wear them that night as well. It would be most fitting if we did.

Just ordered 4 tix today. This is gonna rock....especially the way the guys are playing these days.

I thought they announced it as Saturday night at last Saturday's EMU game. Could be wrong tho...

Hey all -- Just thought I'd clear up some confusion for you all.

ESPN has the rights to broadcast one of the six MAC games during the final weekend of MAC basketball on Friday, March 4. This is a 21-day selection, meaning they will pick which game they want 21 days before the game (early-to-mid February). If the BG/Buffalo game is selected, it will take place on Friday night, March 4. If it is not selected, the game will take place on Saturday, March 5. Although we hope the BGSU women's basketball team has a bye through the first round of the MAC Tournament, that Saturday is also the first round of the MAC Women's Basketball Tournament so there could be two games in Anderson Arena that day.

Does anyone know how they are handling student tickets for the game?

I would imagine that if either BG, Buffalo or both remain tied atop the east standings come this time next week (thats when the 21 day rule hits), ESPN will be looking to televise the last game at AA on the Friday night.

Looking at UB schedule I can see them being 11-4 heading into the game with BG. If BG can win its remaining home games and pick up a road win at CMU, BG could easily be 11-4. Wining in Athens and Oxford, regardless of record is always tough.

How great would it be the last game in AA will be for the MAC regular season champ and at least a guaranteed NIT bid.

I think today is 21 days from the ESPN broadcast on 3/4 - any news on if the BG/UB game was picked up?

Unfortunately, we have not heard anything yet. And yes, you are right, Friday/Saturday is 21 days out from that final weekend. As soon as we know anything, we will have it posted at BGSUFalcons.com.

ESPN must not work on weekends. They may be waiting until after this weekends games to see what the conference standings will be. They also may be looking at the MVC and Horizon league standings as well because they may be balancing their TV game schedule as well.

It was just made official, the game will be on SATURDAY March 5.
