A lot of unhappy people these days. Hope our recruits don't read all this.

Last I checked the Stroh is on a college campus and BG is not doing anything out of the norm. People are just upset because at AA you could bring in BK or McDonald's or Spots. The university now employees an outside agency to manage and monitor the arena, just like a majority of all other colleges. People wanted a new arena but now don't want rules enforced.

Dustin has every right to whine like a baby in the papers, I don't really care if he does.

I just hope that his 9th grade level writing skills have kept him out of enrolling in our University. The nice thing about them, I suppose, is that it ensures nobody will take his point seriously considering he can't construct a simple sentence.

I don't mind that he writes letters either, however he should.be prepared for all comments and remarks directed towards him.

Last I checked UT still has open enrollment and they are required to take all students.

Hey! Here's an idea before any of you criticize my spelling, you might want to look at your own! Like absurd instead of absurb or write instead of wrote! Just saying. So yeah figured I'd point that out.

I understand where you're coming from with your comments. It's just amusing that the comments to various letters and articles in the S-T display these two opposite views of the same facility.

The "glorified HS gym" comments are totally absurb IMO. If these people want glorified HS gyms they need to tune into tonight's BYU/San Francisco game on ESPNU or the Gonzaga/Santa Carla game on ESPN2, or during championship week they need to watch the championship games for conferences like the America East, Northeast Conference, or Big South

Completely agree. Part of the reason I tune into those games is simply to see where other schools play. Many wish they had something as nice as AA. It appears Eppler South is more their peer.

Well let's be honest here. 75% of all letters to the editor of the Sentinel are someone whining about something, followed by several responses from people who comment in a negative manner on everything they can. Welcome to Bowling Green. Did anyone really think BGSU could build a new arena and people not complain? Again, welcome to Bowling Green. I watched 100's of basketball games on crap bleachers in Anderson Arena. Now I have a nice wide comfortable chair that is not broken and a chance to enjoy a beer or several during the games. Love the arena, love the atmosphere, and couldn't care less about steps, elevators, or people trying to sneak concessions into the arena. I love the arena and love that security is actually in place if something did happen. In fact, I pland to thank every "tin soldier" I come in contact with for keeping everyone safe from idiots on Saturday.

WRITTEN BY DUSTIN SMITH THURSDAY, 16 FEBRUARY 2012 09:45 H

Here I am writing this in regards to the security at the Stroh Center. I recently attended the BG vs Toledo game on Saturday and I had went to get something to eat during the game and as I got back to the section I was sitting at just getting ready to go down back to my seat I was told by the "tin soldier" that I had to wait for a "break in play" and I immediately thought this didn't seem right so I pointed out the fact that I've never had to do that before even while a game was in progress! Not only that but the same tin soldier had to check my ticket three times before he would let me get to my seat! And what is the deal with the security standing on the floor during time outs? I seriously doubt that anything is really going to happen here at BG! Nothing happened in Anderson Arena and I'm pretty sure nothing is going to happen at the Stroh either! Is there really a need for the tin soldiers? I don't think so and I am sure there are others who think the same too. Needless to say if something don't change about the security before next season I don't think I will purchase season tickets for men or women basketball! Sincerely a diehard Falcon Fan.

I think I got it!! I found Dustin's Logic!!!

So reading Dustin's letters, past and present, I can conclude that other people NEED to stand up. However, it's a giant travesty that Dustin has to stand against his will... but don't get the wrong idea BG fans! Everyone else (just not Dustin) should still stand at all times, NO EXCEPTIONS!!

P.S. Security has always been on the floor during time outs. Even at AA there were always at least 1 or 2 BGSU campus policemen in the court area for every single game.

Germain Fitch disagrees.

I was slightly inconvenienced today. I just wanted everyone to know. There was construction on the way home and I had to merge from 2 lanes into one. Traffic went slow because of this and I arrived at my home 2 minutes later then I had planned. I welcome each of you to share your slight inconveniences that you had to endure today.

There better be a letter to the editor of your local newspaper about this injustice

They are doing construction on Gypsy Lane in BG, and they have a temporary traffic light setup to conduct traffic through the area. The light has a sign that says, "3 minute wait time". I was held up for 3 minutes!

I walked up to get a file from my inbox yesterday and the data clerk was too busy preparing one that needed immediate attention for another work unit. I had to wait behind that supervisor for several seconds before I got mine.
