I love my little triangle. When prepping food, I have my cook's sink on my right, cooktop on my left, fridge behind me, and a perfect corner for cutting, prepping, etc. PERFECT! The cooktop has the Thermadore star shaped burners. d00d, they rock and get hot like NOW. The downdraft is pretty cool, but is very tough to keep clean.

Paula scoffed at me when I told her I wanted a kitchen with two sinks. She now asks why it's not standard.

Then show me your smoking set up. Anywhere you cook your food.

I don't even know how to put pics up on here but I assure you they didn't make kitchens like RUIT's in 1878. We've done a lot of work on ours and we've got about twice the space we had originally, thanks to my wife's visionary abilities and my strong back. I don't cook a lot anymore because we're within two blocks of about ten restaraunts.

I don't know how people cooked for large families in the tiny quarters we had originaly and in 1878 I know people didn't eat out. Must have been a zoo trying to get a big meal together. Someday, I'd like a house that's about 1/2 kitchen but then I'm sure I'd struggle to maintain my reasonably svelte 190 if I did. :-D

Yeah, that's not fair at all.

It's like my wife posting a thread that said "show me your husband", and opening up with a pic and description of me. The rest of you would feel silly.

Needless to say, my kitchen isn't too bad for a first try, but I'll like it a lot more when the hardware and painting tools are off the countertops. :(

Yyyyyeah.

This thread didn't go the way I had hoped.

Back to the cutting board.

Oh fine, Alton... if it makes ya feel better...

Here's my little corner of nothingness... though there have been some appliances put on the counters, a little more wall decoration, furniture in that back room to the left, and some more painting done in the 4 months since this pic was taken.

The chicken painting has yet to be hung, however.

I like it. It's got everything a good cook needs: Lawry's seasoned salt, PAM, power drill, level.

That's a sweet cookin' pad, TG. I wish I had such nice digs back in the day.
Obviously, your the wife has the fine taste to decorate the space above the cabinets......her taste in husbands is still on a jury recess, but that's another thread, I'm sure.

I love it. Wall color, space, brightnes is all kickin'. Not only is it groovy as is, but it's got HUGE potential - I mean HUGE!

Thanks for sharing............DB. :-D

Alright. Here's my kitchen. Remember, I'm a bachelor who is only sharing the house with another bachelor roommate :) So yeah...it's not clean and it's not nearly as awesome (or roomy) as what you guys were showing off.

Here's my kitchen

The third pic is actually the living room. The bonus of bachelorhood...a kegerator in the living room :)

With winter being here the Smoker is covered and put in the garage along with the deep fryer. Grills are now snow covered...we'll have to hold off until summer for the pics of that ;)

The wall color was the wife's call. It looked a bit like a band-aid on the swab they put on the lid of the can, but came out pretty solid. It looks a lot bigger there than it feels, so I don't think there's space for an island or anything (besides, that's in the middle of the dog's fetch space), but I'm definitely keeping a breakfast bar in mind coming out of the wall to the right.

You may have inspired me to take a few "after" pics now that we've got some stuff on the walls.

Best feature is the staircase off to the left so if McConvey ever comes over, she can go straight to hell. :-D

If I'm going to Indianapolis, I'll have reached hell long before I get to your place. That staircase is just the way to the seventh layer.
